Gators & Pie & Friends

Have you ever gone speeding down a hill in an "all terrain vehicle" with some of your best friends? If you haven't, I highly recommend it. That's how I spent my New Years Eve. I was laughing, screaming, and having some of the most fun I've ever had.

This is Sunny and Sully. Two of the cutest gals I know!

The morning of New Years Eve, my mom and I went and picked up three of my friends at the Smashburger parking lot, then took an hour and a half(probably longer)drive to Round Top, Texas. My friends and I stayed at the barndominium, fields away from the main house, and just had fun being together; while we raced gators through the back field. We felt like real country girls, even though Annika claims she already is one. We honestly spent the majority of our time there zooming around the fields. I've never felt such a rush as the wind blew through my hair and my face hurt from smiling so much. Being with my friends who all drove alongside me made it all so much better.

Soon, we were hungry, so we all ate in the barndo. Then we headed into town to eat some pie and take some pictures. We had a full on photoshoot in the square, and then sat down for some delicious pie. Also, shoutout to my mom for being such a great photographer! Royers Pie Haven is such a treasure in the small town. (Fun fact: Round Top has a booming population of 90 people!) Every time I visit the ranch, I have to have a slice my all time favorite pie. It is always one of my favorite places to take my friends when I'm up there.

These are some of my besties! I love these girls more than anything!

All the little notes inside the pie shop are like a breath of fresh air!

New Years Eve night was upon us. We turned up the music, pulled out a fun game(What Do You Meme? 10/10 recommend), and laughed all night long. We goofed around and just had fun. This New Years Eve was the most fun I've ever had with friends. Just being carefree and silly without any bit of stress. This truly was the best way to ring in the New Year. And it also is a great image of how I want this new year to be, full of laughter and great friends.

Oh hey there Sully;)

Now, time for that bit of advice I try to give in each post. Every new year people say, "new year, new me." What if, instead of trying to change ourselves, we say "new year, better me." Try not to focus on everything you want to change about yourself, just try to make yourself the best version of YOU! Surround yourself with the people who push you to be that version of yourself. It's the best way to let that version of yourself exist. So this year, the brand spanking new 2019, I am allowing myself to be the best version of myself possible. I have amazing friends. I have a loving family. I have the best confidence I've had in years. My life is full of awesome things. I don't want to change anything, I just want to make the great things even better. I want 2019 to be the best year ever. I know things may get crazy. But, I also know, without that excitement there would be no gator races or mouth-watering chocolate chip pie.
